Tennessee Safari Park

The boys were on fall break a few weeks ago, so we loaded up the van and took a road trip to West Tennessee to visit my family.  One of the fun things we did was to visit the Tennessee Safari Park.  The boys had been with my mom and sister a few times, but this was a first for Allie and me!  It basically is a farm which houses exotic animals.  You drive your car through most of the park and can feed the animals through your window.  The animals know the drill and aren’t afraid to come right up to you.

IMG_0945Well, hello there!

Yum!

IMG_0973 This one wasn’t shy about getting up close and personal with the wildlife.

photoNot real, so Allie wanted nothing to do with it!

It was a fun time!  So glad we went.

Disney on Ice

I took the little people to Disney on Ice for the first time last week.  It was probably too late to take the boys, they were a little bored through most of it.  Allie, on the other hand, LOVED it!  I told the boys this was some of their payback to little girl for all the ball games she has sat through.  Before the show, we went to Margaritaville for a quick dinner.  The boys had much more fun there than they had at the show.

The balloon-guy-pirate-on-stilts was very popular with our crew!

The Little Mermaid

It was a fun evening.  I hate that we hadn’t taken the boys to this when they were younger, but at least we can check this off the bucket list.

Junior Docent at The Hermitage

Hayden’s 4th grade class took a field trip to The Hermitage, home to the 7th President Andrew Jackson.  Not only did they get to tour the grounds, they spent some of their time as Junior Docents for the day.  Each student had been assigned a station at The Hermitage and had a script to memorize.  As visitors approached their station, they recited their information.  Hayden was stationed at the Carriage Drive.  All of the kids did a great job!

It was a great field trip!  The kids, parents and visitors all learned a lot about President Andrew Jackson and his beautiful home.

Sweet Moments

These are the moments that melt a Mama’s heart.  He may love to pester her to death, but he really does love being a big brother.

Back to School!

School started back in August, but I wanted to share some sweet pictures with you.

Hayden started 4th grade, Kyle started 2nd grade and Allie began Mother’s Day Out.

We had to get our annual picture of them by the front door, ready to leave for school.

Little Sister had to get in on the picture action.  How sweet are those faces!!!

They had an awesome first day!

Allie started MDO a few weeks later.  She had no clue what was in store for her!  She was great as we entered her classroom, but was in tears when she realized that Mommy and Daddy were leaving without her!  Her teachers said she cried for a bit after we left and was fine the rest of the day.

IMG_9439Ready for her very first day of “school!”

IMG_9440A quick pic with Daddy.
