Allie’s First Haircut

Someone got her hair cut recently!  Actually, she barely got it trimmed.  She was awesome and sat in the chair just like a big girl.  I wasn’t expecting that!  She normally is such a wiggle worm that I was fully anticipating having to hold her still in my lap.

IMG_0279This was just before we left the house.  Allie has really taken to Missy here lately.  She calls her “Sis” and loves to pet on her and let Missy lick her fingers – which she immediately puts into her mouth!

IMG_0280 Pre-haircut.  It’s just stringy and semi-curly.  Just like mine – poor kid!

Sitting in the chair like a big kid!

She’s not lovin’ the spray bottle – just like her brothers.

So far, so good.

She earned her first tiara!

Sweet, sweet girl!

Have a great day!

First UT Game

Well, November has totally passed us by!

In the first part of the month we took the boys to their (and mine!) first UT game.  They played our alma mater, MTSU.  I hated that I couldn’t cheer for UT, but we had to pull for our blue! The boys, of course, were all for Big Orange!

Aunt Jen joined us.

Granny made sure the boys had a front row spot for the Vol Walk.

Granny, Hayden and Jen are ready for the game!

Kyle must have been in the middle of eating something chocolate?

The boys loved seeing the big “T!”

Such a fun experience!  Can’t wait to do it again!

All Saints Day

Today was All Saints Day.  Each year the 1st graders at the boys’ school are assigned a saint to research.  On All Saints Day they get to dress up as their saint and give a report in front of all the parents and classmates.  Kyle was assigned St. Patrick.

Allie trying to be quiet during the reports.  She did great and lasted through all 48!

Great job, Kyle!  We are so proud of you!

Here’s a picture of Hayden from his Saint Report 2 years ago…

Happy Halloween!

We hope you had a great Halloween!  We certainly had a great time here!  Here are a few pictures from our day:

This is Kyle’s pumpkin he had to decorate as a storybook character.  Of course, he chose Mickey Mouse.

The boys showing off their carved pumpkins.

We had our traditional Halloween dinner of Mummy Dogs.

Granny and the kids ready to trick-or-treat!

We’re ready to get started!

I have no idea who these other kids are, but it was funny to have all these Marios at our house at once!

IMG_0245 By far, my favorite costume of the night!

Flo the Progressive Girl and Dorothy are ready to pass out candy!

Our community helper, again!

Happy Halloween!

Belated Birthdays!

We’ve had a few birthdays in our family over the past few weeks!  As usual, I’m a little late in posting them…but, better late than never!

Bev’s birthday was Sept. 27th!  We went to Cantina Laredo to celebrate, and of course everything was yummy – especially the guacamole!  I think “Granny” had a great time…I seem to recall some little boys really enjoying helping her with her chocolate cake!  I think I had a bite or two or three…

This picture was taken Oct. 16, 1990.  I was a senior in high school and was headed to Memphis that night to a Poison concert with friends.  I had to make a detour to the hospital to hold that sweet baby girl – my new sister Mary Catherine!

IMG_0005 Now, here we are (almost) 21 years later at an MTSU football game back in September  She’s really making me feel old!  Happy Birthday Mary!

Thanks for stopping by!

Disney World Memories

I want to share just a sampling of the MANY pictures from our trip last week to Disney World.  We had such an awesome time!  We were so blessed to be able to share our kids’ first trip to Disney with our family.  It sure was nice to have help from Granny, Grandma, Papa and Aunt Jen!  Thanks guys!
It was truly exhausting, but well worth it!  I wish I knew how many miles we actually walked each day…next time we go I need to remember to wear a pedometer!
This trip was full of “Firsts.”  In addition to this being our first trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, the kids also took their first plane ride!  To say they were beyond excited would be an understatement!  Seeing their faces as we took off made the 6:30 am flight to Orlando worth it!
Be prepared…lots of pictures follow!
IMG_0020Ty and Kyle ready to take-off!
IMG_0022 Ready to go!  Notice the sunrise out the window!  You’ll notice Allie sucking on her fingers a lot in the following pictures :)
IMG_0035We’re here!
Our first night there, we went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.  The kids got to wear their costumes, go trick-or-treating and watch a great parade.
Our cuties!
Ready for Day 2.  Isn’t her shirt the cutest?  Got it from Etsy shop Giggles & Grins.  Gotta love Etsy!  Also, she never got the memo not to wear white shoes after Labor Day!  :)
All Ears!  Surprisingly, the kids actually wore their ears around the parks!  I wasn’t expecting that…especially from Mr. Picky Kyle.
One of our many character sightings.  The boys think they have outgrown watching Handy Manny, but they still wanted a picture with him.
Lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Hollywood Studios was fun!  It was dark in there, hence Bev reading the menu with a flashlight.
Someone was WORN OUT!  She never naps in her stroller, but she sure did during this trip!
On a Safari at Animal Kingdom.
She didn’t like having to sit still!
Hayden and Aunt Jen are ready to see animals!
 28759740002We all survived the Safari!
Expedition Everest was my favorite!  I hadn’t been on a roller coaster in years.  The adrenaline junkie came out in me on this trip!  Kyle may take after his mommy…he finally decided to ride Space Mountain on our last day.  He loved it!
Our doorman at the French Quarter always had beads or coins to give the boys.  They came home with quite a collection!
In the lobby of the resort

IMG_0089Go Kyle!
IMG_0093Epcot was great, though we didn’t get to spend as much time there as we had hoped to.
IMG_0116Another one of little girl’s cute outfits.  This one was also from an Etsy shop Little Petunia Designs.   I love being able to support Work-At-Home moms!
IMG_0118The boys LOVED the Lego Store in Downtown Disney.  They were in Heaven!
IMG_0121It’s hard to believe Woody and Buzz are made completely out of Legos!
IMG_0126Allie and Grandma enjoying a ride on the carousel.
IMG_0127The boys showing off their new Disney pins bought for them by Granny.
IMG_0128Chef Mickey’s for breakfast.  The boys loved seeing Mickey and friends in person.   Allie, not so much.  She enjoyed them from a distance, but as soon as they got close she lost it!
IMG_0131 Donald & the boys!
IMG_0135Allie loved “It’s a Small World.”  The boys weren’t super thrilled about it, but they toughed it out for their sister’s sake.
28759740001 One last group picture!
We had an awesome time!  Can’t wait to go back when Allie is a bit bigger!
Have a great day!
