Back to School

Yesterday was a bittersweet day.  We said goodbye to our relaxing. fun-packed summer break.  But, we also said hello to a brand spanking new school year, full of fresh beginnings.

The boys were both excited and nervous, jumping out of bed and ready to go in record time.  All summer we had a hard time getting everyone out the door by 10 am, but we were all ready to go before 7 in the morning!

We took our requisite back-to-school pictures by the front door.

Our 6th grader.  How in he world do we have a middle schooler already???

Our 4th grader.  He is happy to be off of the elementary school hallway.

Two handsome boys.

Of course, little sister had to be in on the picture taking action.  She sure will miss her boys now that they are back in school.

Kyle at his desk, sporting his longer hair-do.

Kyle with his sweet teacher Ms. D.  She was one of Hayden's teachers the past 2 years, so we know he is in good hands.

Hayden with his homeroom teacher Mrs. C.  We just know we will love her, too!

Both boys were happy to get to their classrooms.  The only tears shed were from Allie, who started crying as soon as we dropped Kyle off at his room.  After she had another breakdown when we took Hayden to his class, we found out she was worried that we were leaving her at school, too.  Poor baby girl!  It's not your turn...yet!

And with that, they're off!

The Celebration

Birthday celebrations tend to last a while around here, and this one was no exception.  First up was a combined celebration with a classmate at a glow-in-the-dark party place.

The kids had a blast sliding, dancing, playing basketball & mini-golf and glow-in-the-dark tag.

What We've Been Doing...

Hi All,

I know it's been a while since my last post.  2014 will be much better.  Promise.  We've been keeping busy with school, sports practice, dance class, art class.  The list could go on and on.  Basically, life as we know (and love) it!

Here's a glimpse into our recent goings-on.

A whole lot of polar vortex and a little bit of snow were all we needed for a snow day.  It wasn't enough to make a snowman, or even a snow angel for that matter.  But, it was just enough to get everyone out of school.  That's all that really mattered!

Basketball is the sport of the moment.  Both boys are playing on different teams for their school and are doing a great job.  We are thankful to have warm gyms to spend our Saturday mornings during this cold, cold season.

Allie started ballet/tap class back in the fall.  She is LOVING IT!  This girl loves to put on a show.

Basically, this is what we've been up to since all the Christmas decorations came down.  We're staying crazy busy, but loving every little minute of it!

Take care,
Angela

Breakfast from the North Pole

Our elf, Dave, surprised the kiddos with a special breakfast one morning this week.  They awoke to find this waiting on them:

IMG_0025IMG_0029Not only did Dave bring breakfast, but he also brought 2 Elves-in-training!  The kids named them C.C. (short for Candy Cane) and Sam.

They were thrilled with our newest additions!

Have a great day!

Little Turkeys

Allie’s Mother’s Day Out class had their Thanksgiving Feast last week.  We signed up to bring juice boxes.  Not just any old juice box would do.  We had to jazz them up a bit!  Here is what my littlest turkey contributed to the meal.

We had fun putting these together!  Here is the table all set for the sweet little ones.

Playing Catch-Up

We are enjoying the calm before the storm – that time period between Halloween and Thanksgiving, before the holiday madness begins.  Over the past few weeks we have wrapped up flag football seasons for both boys.  They thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
