Beauty and the Beast

Allie recently enjoyed her first musical, Beauty and the Beast.  We joined her 2 besties and their moms for a fun Girls Night Out!  She absolutely LOVED it!

Sweet girls practically skipping down the street to the theater.

They are ready!

Of course, they got light up roses!

Meeting Belle, who also happens to be bestie F's sister,  after the performance.  She did an outstanding job and has a bright future ahead of her!  The show was a summer camp performance, in which the entire cast consisted of elementary, middle and high school students.  We were quite impressed!

This was definitely a night these girls won't soon forget!  I am sure this is just the beginning of many more GNO's for these sweet little ladies.

Thanks for stopping by!

Our American Girl

The much anticipated American Girl store opened in our area a few weeks ago.  When it was first announced that it was coming, I immediately texted hubby and told him to hang on to his wallet.  He promptly told me that he was taking our little American Girl there for a daddy/daughter date for her first visit.  After a loooooong wait, the day finally arrived for her to go.  She was excited beyond words!

Before her date with Daddy, she poured through the AG catalog and decided this is what she wanted him to buy her.  Of course, that didn't happen!  She tried to convince him again at the store with this sweet little smile.  I was proud of him that he didn't cave and stuck to the agreed upon budget.

15 Years

Fifteen years ago today, this was happening...

We were so young!  Evidently, I have really aged my hubby.  When I posted this pic on Facebook, everyone commented about how young Ty looked in this picture.

Fifteen years, 3 kids, 2 houses, 6 cars, 2 dogs and several jobs later...

This is us today.  Picture taken by our 5 year old photographer and anniversary dinner date.

I'm a pretty cheap date (not really!).  All I wanted for our anniversary was cheap Mexican food and a margarita!  We are waiting to have our official nice dinner to celebrate when we go to Santa Barbara very soon.

Can't wait to see where the next 15 years take us!

Boys of Summer

Our family loves baseball!  Major league, minor league, little league...we love it all!  Our boys have played many sports over the past 12 or so years, but my absolute favorite to watch them play is this game.

This spring Kyle was nursing a broken toe and was placed on the injured list.  He was finally able to play in the last game or two of the season.  He attended almost every game and became the unofficial "dugout manager" for his team.  He was a great sport about it, though we know it had to be hard watching all his buddies out on the field giving it their all.

FINALLY able to step into the box!  He was so excited to be back in the game, even if it was only for a short time.

Hayden had an awesome season!  He didn't disappoint in making each game exciting as we watched our speed demon steal bases like a pro.

Stealing home

He played his heart out and earned several game balls over the course of the season.

The highlight of the season for him was being selected as an All-Star!  So proud of him!

We are taking a break from sports for the rest of the summer to enjoy pool time!  Can't wait until they are back on the field again, though!

Take care,
Angela

The Last Day of School

The boys' last day of school is such a fun day!  There is never any complaining when the alarm goes off that morning, no dragging the kiddos out of bed, no sleepy eyes being rubbed at the breakfast table.  Somehow, everyone manages to pop right out of bed; and they actually look forward to going to school!

At the beginning of every single school day, our wonderful principal greeted each child with a hug - rain or shine.  This day was bittersweet because Mrs. M was retiring, so this is the last hug they would get from her as their principal.

As Mrs. M made her way back to the office after drop-off that last morning, all students and teachers lined the hallway to applaud this very special lady.  It was definitely a teary moment to hear over 400 students clapping and cheering for their principal.  We sure are going to miss her!

It is a short day, filled mostly with an awards ceremony.  While the boys enjoy walking up to receive any awards they may have earned that last quarter, the real highlight of the day is when the dismissal bell rings for the last time.  The tradition at their school is to have your car decorated, so the parking lot is filled with car windows covered in writing, balloons flying high and streamers waving through he air.  And then, the car horns start up.  Once the kids get to the cars, the car horns start blaring! This goes on until the last car has left the parking lot, waving to the teachers and staff that line the lot.  It's music to our ears.

And with this school year all wrapped up...goodbye school, HELLO POOL!!!

Teacher Gifts

It's that crazy time of the year when we are wrapping up activities and school.  I like to try to give teachers and coaches just a little something to let them know we appreciate all that they have done for us and our kiddos.  This year I gave Allie's preschool teachers a little "happy" that they can use at the pool and beach.  It's a monogrammed acrylic tumbler filled with individual Crystal Light lemonade and tea packets.

Tiny Dancer - Dance Recital

Allie's dance recital took place the day after her birthday party.  This little girl had a busy weekend!  She has loved taking dance again this year and was so excited to be on stage.  She has a wonderful dance teacher, whom we just adore.

Her ballet costume was so very sweet!  It was covered in glitter and sequins, which meant our house and car appeared to be covered in Pixie Dust.

A quick pic with Mom and Dad before getting ready to leave.

First up was her ballet dance - I Love Somebody.  She and her besties F and A all looked so sweet.

Sweet, sweet girl.  I am so glad she is such a girly girl!

The 3 girlies in action.

Here's the video to her dance.  Thanks to big bro Kyle for being the videographer!

Next up was their tap number - Deep in the Heart of Texas.

Our sweet little ballerina.

She had quite a crowd there to see her!

Now that we're done with dance until September, I don't know what we'll do with our Monday evenings!

Have a great day!
